The Hunger Games is the first book in the Hunger Games trilogy, written by Suzanne Collins. It is about a sixteen year old girl named Katniss who takes her sisters place in a televised event, where one boy and one girl from each of the twelve districts in her country must fight to the death. The second book, Catching Fire, and the third book, Mockingjay have also been released. A movie adaption of The Hunger Games is set to be released on March 23, 2012.
