Romeo and Juliet is romantic tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It is about the son and
daughter of two feuding families, who fall in love. Their love, however, is forbid by their families, and eventually leads to their deaths. Shakespeare wrote the play early in his career and borrowed heavily from earlier versions of the tale, incorporating and expanded plot and further developed characters. Romeo and Juliet is one of Shakespeare's most famous, and most performed plays, and remain popular today.
